Half a year ago, I bought Meizu Pop wireless headphones as a gift for my daughter. They were about three times more expensive than the most budget models of similar bluetooth headsets, although their characteristics do not differ. But I was bribed by their design and compactness; for a girl, such a gift seemed to me the most suitable.

A brief overview of the headphones

Meizu Pop wireless headphones, in my opinion, will be a good gift, both to yourself and to someone else. But, as it turned out, this model comes across a lot of marriage, I just came across a defective model, which I will discuss below. Also on the Yandex layout there were a lot of negative reviews, both in terms of sound and signal quality, and in terms of marriage.

At the time of purchase, the headset cost, on average, from 6,000 to 9,000 rubles. I bought my model for 8000 rubles. there was no time to look for a cheaper price, time was running out to choose a gift. Now their cost, on average, is 5000 rubles.

My daughter really liked the gift and she immediately began to wear them. According to her, they sit well in the ear and do not fall out, although she put them on without using additional ear spacers that come with the headphones.

There are almost no complaints about the sound and quality of the Bluetooth connection. Sometimes, according to my daughter, the signal may be interrupted, but this happens rarely and does not cause much discomfort. The sound quality is at a good level, I did not hear much difference compared to my Awai wireless headphones and a regular wired headset.

The duration of the work is approximately 4 hours, despite the fact that the manufacturer claims 3 hours of continuous operation. To recharge, they need to be placed in their seats in the charging station, which has its own battery.

To charge the dock itself, there is a USB Type-C port on its underside. There is also a wireless option. One charging of the station is enough for about 4 full charges of both headphones without recharging it from the network.

Table with the main characteristics.

Headphone repair

At first everything was fine, the headset performed its duties perfectly, without any complaints. But three months later, when the warranty expired, the right earpiece stopped working. At first, he again returned to life if he was shaken, but after that he broke down completely. After another two months, the magnetic fastening of the right earpiece loosened, and after another month it completely broke.

Headphones did not work at all, i.e. did not blink the indicator if they were installed in the station for charging and were not detected by the phone. I think I got a defective model or a fake. The warranty period of three months had already passed, there was nothing to lose, and I decided to disassemble them before taking them to the trash.

How to disassemble Meizu Pop headphones

On the Internet, there were as many video instructions for disassembling Meizu Pop with your own hands. In general, the process was not difficult, as always, everything was assembled on latches, which I do not like so much. I like it better when manufacturers give you the opportunity to disassemble the gadget by unscrewing a couple of screws without fasteners with latches.

My electronics repair kit is modest. I don't do it professionally. It does not have special scalpels, thin plates and other tools for dismantling small equipment. But there were several suitable gizmos at hand that allowed me to open both the charging station itself and both headphones.

In order to disassemble the charging station, you need to pry off its upper part with something very thin and flat. You need to pry carefully, snapping off the latches around the entire perimeter. As always, with such an opening, the case at the joints is easily damaged and loses its presentation, but for me it was not critical.

Inside the case there was a main board with a charge controller, two batteries, a wireless charging coil, a board with a USB Type-C port. On the top cover are attached 4 rectangular magnets to hold the headphones, 2 for each. There are also 2 round magnets, one for each, which act as magnetic limit switches, thanks to which the earphone turns off when charging.

It was not so difficult to disassemble the headphones themselves, I gently tapped them in a circle with pliers, putting them on a handkerchief, and then went along the seam with a clerical knife. The lid came off easily, but when I opened it, I broke a couple of plastic pins, which you can also close your eyes to.

Inside was a signal receiving and control board with a microphone and microcircuits. Cables with charging, speaker and battery contacts go to the board from the case.

Repair of the magnetic mount of the station

My headset has one holding rectangular magnet on the cover of the docking station fell off. Therefore, the earpiece was weakly magnetized to its seat.

This problem was the easiest to solve, because. It was enough to stick the magnet in place. But I decided to fix stronger not only the fallen off, but also other magnets. As it turned out, they were also held on by snot, it even seemed to me that they were not glued at all.

I checked which side of the magnets were attached to the earpiece and glued them one by one back into place. To do this, I used a thin strip of hot melt glue, cut off with a clerical knife from a tremoglue rod. I cut the strip into squares, put the squares into the grooves for the magnets. Then I heated the magnets with a soldering iron, pressing the copper wire to their seats.

In the process, I made a mistake. He pressed hard on one of the magnets, which caused a bump to protrude on the outside of the mount. I had to grind it with an engraver. The appearance suffered a little, but it no longer played any role.

After I checked how the headphones were held in place, then I assembled the docking station and proceeded to repair the left earpiece.

Left earpiece repair

When disassembling the left earpiece and examining the board under a magnifying glass, I accidentally pressed on the battery contacts, which caused the power indicator to light up. So I realized that the problem is in these contacts.

It turned out that the battery was not fixed in the case and rests only on its power contacts going to the board tracks. This led to a breakdown, because. when shaking, the track, to which the battery power contact is soldered, simply broke away from the textolite.

Then he bent the contact, removed the tin and a piece of the torn track from it with a soldering iron. When studying the place where it came off, it turned out that this track was connected by a through channel to the track on the other side of the board. When the needle was connected to the battery leg with this contact, the earphone turned on.

For good, it was necessary to remove the board, unsolder all the contacts from it and solder a new jumper to the track on the back of the board. But I decided not to waste time and flattened the copper wiring, tinned it and soldered it to the through contact that remained from the torn track.

After that, I checked whether the left earpiece is charging, whether the indicator turns on when it is placed in the docking station, and whether the search for the device begins with the corresponding light indication. Everything was fine, and I assembled it by gluing the cap on with super glue in three places. Additionally, I fixed the battery with hot glue so that it does not hang out.

During the repair, I found a video clip with the same problem. But the author had two breakdowns at once, and for repair, he completely disassembled the headset, soldering the contacts. Before starting the repair, I strongly recommend watching this video.

Right earpiece repair

The problem with the right headphones was similar to the left. Also, a track with a soldered battery contact came off the textolite, but on the other side of the board. This time I immediately checked the tracks. One of them staggered, but when pressed, the headset showed no signs of life.

When repairing, I acted in the same way as with the left earpiece. I bent and cleaned the battery contact and began to search for the desired contact track on the board, to which you can solder to restore contact.

In this case, it was necessary to solder to a small piece of the remaining track, which went under the cable clamp. If it had come off a little further, then I would not have been able to find and restore it. I cleaned and tinned the remaining piece of the track and soldered the flattened copper wire to it, connecting it to the battery leg.

But when checking, it turned out that the headset did not always work, but somehow only half. When you put it on charge, it blinked with an indicator, and when it was removed from the docking station, it stopped showing signs of life.

It turned out that the torn track had another contact that went right through to the other side of the board. I did the same as I did with the left earpiece. I did not solder the contacts and remove the board, but soldered to this point, which went to the other side.

Now the earphone fully worked, both alone and paired with the left one. Additionally, I fixed the battery with hot-melt glue and assembled its case, dropping superglue in three places to glue the cap.

At the same time, as in the first case, here I also found a video with the same problem and with the right earpiece. True, the path of its author did not come off the textolite, the contact was simply badly soldered and fell off. Before starting the repair, I strongly recommend watching this video.

Summing up the results

At the beginning of the repair, I did not think that I could not fix the headset with my own hands. But it turned out that this is quite realistic with little experience in electronics repair, with only basic soldering skills. My daughter was glad that she could listen to music without wires again, and I received an additional self-repair skill and a small plus in karma.

It is significant that neither the left nor the right earphone works. That is, the same factory marriage is present both there and there. This eventually leads to a guaranteed failure of the device, because. shaking during operation in any case will be present.

The Meizu Pop wireless headset manufacturer did not bother to fix the battery in the case, which is why almost all breakdowns occur in this model. A dangling battery over time simply tears off the tracks with contacts from the textolite. It was also possible to make the battery contacts flexible to compensate for vibration.

They also saved money on mounting the holding magnets in the docking station case. They were poorly glued to their seats. Here, too, minimal costs were required in order to avoid the occurrence of this problem in principle.

comment

A wireless headset, through which the sound from the phone is transmitted directly to the human ear, is without a doubt a very convenient and practical device.

With its help, hands remain free and allow you to safely drive a car or simply do everyday activities while communicating via mobile communications.

In addition to convenience, it is believed that the radiation from the "blue beam" is much safer than the powerful radiation emanating directly from a mobile phone. For many, this is a very weighty argument in favor of a bluetooth headset.

For example, it can be successfully repaired or upgraded. Below in this article, a Bluetooth headset repair option will be described, namely, the replacement of the auditory speaker.

In what cases might this be needed?

  1. When, when buying a headset, at maximum volume in a noisy place, nothing can be disassembled from the conversation, and there is no way to return it to the store.
  2. When, over time, the hearing speaker partially or completely fails.

It's about replacing the earpiece.

Here, in the photo is a regular headset with a speaker volume problem.

Replacing this speaker, even with the same original one, may not give anything, so the replacement will take place with a hearing element from cheap, possibly semi-working headphones.

The main thing is to choose the element with the highest output volume.

To do this - if there are several headphones - you need to connect each in turn and evaluate the sound volume at the same level set on the phone.

But first you need to remove the old speaker. This must be done with the device turned off.

When the speaker is peeled off, carefully unsolder the wires from it.

The length of the remaining wires will be quite enough for comfortable soldering of another element. You can pull them up a little more with tweezers, which will give additional length.

We disassemble the earpiece and peel off its speaker.

We attach the soldered speaker to the case, and in a circle, with a stretch, we wrap it with black PVC tape.

Turn on the device and check its operation.

After such a repair, the headset can be used perfectly and the sound will be much better than the original.

Wireless headphones (headset or headphones) belong to the category of household appliances, which service centers are reluctant to repair, despite the fact that the price of some models is rather high. Their owners can bring faulty headphones back to life. This will require a little patience, the ability to hold a screwdriver and a soldering iron in your hands, and the presence of the simplest tester on the farm is only welcome.

In the article, we disassembled the mini speaker system, examined its design and fixed the problem. Here and now we will fulfill wireless bluetooth headphones repair Nokia BH-905.

As an example, consider the most common malfunctions to eliminate, which do not require deep theoretical knowledge in the field of radio electronics:

  • headphone battery not charging
  • the battery is charging, but the battery life is clearly less than stated in the instructions
  • The right or left earphone does not work.

Most headphone models do not have any visible screws and screws on the outside of the case, and many owners who decide to repair accessories on their own have a question - How are the headphones.

In order to find the hidden screws in the Nokia BH-905 headphones, we need to peel off the leather ear pads. It should be noted here that it is in this place that most headphone manufacturers hide the screws.

Having unscrewed the screws, we are convinced that such a disassembly is clearly not enough to access the “insides”, but a step is necessary to replace the speaker. To access the battery and the wireless headphone board, you need to go from the other side...

To begin with, remove the glued decorative overlay with the Nokia inscription, carefully pry it off and remove the decorative bezel.

There are four more screws hidden here that need to be unscrewed.

The circuit board, the battery opens up to our eyes, and a malfunction immediately catches our eye - a torn or poorly soldered wire from the battery. The headphones are used without a case battery - the battery element is in a polyethylene bag. The package is hermetically sealed. If the appearance of the battery resembles an inflated balloon, then this indicates that a chemical reaction is taking place inside the battery with the release of gases. Bloating is the first sign of battery degradation.

The capacity of such batteries is less than serviceable ones, respectively, faulty batteries are charged and discharged much faster than serviceable ones. To replace a defective battery, you must select a battery that is suitable in size and characteristics. The wireless headphones use a 3.7 Volt, 280mAh rechargeable battery.

The battery life of the Nokia BH-905 Bluetooth headphones with a healthy battery is quite long: 24 hours in talk mode via Bluetooth, about 25 hours as Bluetooth headphones. Turning on the noise suppressor reduces the operating time by about a third - 15 and 16 hours, respectively. With a wired connection and noise canceling turned on, you can listen to music for almost 40 hours without interruption.

Ordinary headphones are made of a wire, a plug and a pair of speakers. Additionally, the headset can be equipped with other elements that expand the scope of its application. Each of these elements can fail during operation. Before proceeding with the repair, you should understand how to disassemble the headphones or vacuum earphone so as not to completely ruin the headset. Consider the features of disassembling the main categories of headphones, having studied this information, you can easily cope with any headphones, because the features are similar for everyone.

How to disassemble an earphone with a microphone

Often there is a breakdown of a headset equipped with additional functions. These elements are placed in a small plastic case for ease of use, which is attached to the cord. In order to get to these elements, it is necessary to disassemble the case. It is usually glued together and in order to separate the two halves, you will need to use a knife.

The breakdown of the volume control can be determined by the characteristic crackling in the speakers or by poor sound. The problem lies in such a component as a variable resistor. This part consists of a slider that moves across the resistive layer. You can extend the life of this element with graphite grease. Lubricate the elements with a cotton swab.

Problems with the microphone are manifested by the deterioration of audibility during a conversation. The cause is often clogging. To fix this problem, you need to wipe the microphone with a cotton swab, which you first moisten with alcohol. When all the manipulations are completed, you can glue the two halves of the body.

How to disassemble vacuum headphones

If there is a breakdown of the vacuum headset near the speaker, you will need to disassemble it. The algorithm of your actions should be as follows:

To diagnose the correctness of the work performed, connect the headset to the gadget, turn on the music. If everything works as it should, glue the half of the disassembled case together. By the same principle, you can disassemble the bluetooth headset.

How to disassemble large wireless headphones

If your large headphones are out of order, they can also be disassembled. The speakers are hidden inside the case, its disassembly becomes more difficult due to the fact that there are hidden screws and latches. If during parsing you do not find all the elements, you can simply break the plastic parts.

IMPORTANT. Different manufacturers of headphones use different mounting methods, be careful.

Let's look at a few basic options:

Other manufacturers may stick soft pads, in which case you will need to use a knife or screwdriver to remove them. The halves can be fastened with screws or latches. When disassembling the headset, be careful, take your time so as not to break anything.

How to disassemble the headphone plug

If something is wrong with the operation of the headphones, you need to pay attention to the plug. A very common cause of failure is the bending of the cable cores at the junction with the plug. It is not difficult to identify such a breakdown. It is necessary to activate the headphones and turn on the music, kneading the bend with your fingers, you should hear a crack or some kind of noise. This indicates a problem in this particular place. Therefore, it is necessary to disassemble the plug and repair it.

To repair, follow these steps:

  • Disconnect the cable from the plug using wire cutters.

PURPOSE OF REPAIR. Remove the metal part from the braid. Keep in mind that the element is securely soldered and you will not be able to save the braid.

  • Remove the metal part of the plug carefully, it is important not to damage the contacts. Save soldered wires. By the color of the insulation, it is easy to figure out where to solder the cable cores.

REFERENCE. If the headset is equipped with a microphone, then under the braid you will see not three, but four cores.

  • The cable that you have separated from the plug will need to be stripped. It will be enough to take 5 mm of insulation to be able to solder the copper core to the plug contact.

IMPORTANT. The veins of the wires are covered when using a sewn-in varnish, it prevents soldering. To work, it is necessary to clean off or singe this coating.

  • Make a new plug cover. To do this, you need a cap from a regular pen. Place a piece of heat shrink tubing over the wire. This will reduce the chance of re-damaging the wire in the same place. The cable cores must be soldered to the plug contacts. Do not forget about the color of the wires and their correspondence.

  • Use a tester to check if it works. Otherwise, you can plug the plug into the device and turn on the music. If everything works well, heat up the heat shrink tubing. Move the cap after lubricating it with epoxy.

The process of disassembling the headphones is a relatively simple task. The main thing is to do everything carefully and not to rush. After reviewing the information provided, you can easily repair the problems with your headset and continue to continue to operate it.

Many of us love to listen to music. But everyone prefers their own direction. Therefore, in order not to disturb others, we use headphones. In addition, they allow you to watch a movie or play without disturbing the peace of the household.

But, like any other device, headphones can fail. Of course, you can buy a new model. However, you can try to revive the old ones. To do this, they should be properly disassembled so as not to completely spoil. Let's look at the main ways to disassemble the most popular types of headphones. After all, having learned this information, you can “revive” any model.

How to disassemble the headphone plug

Before proceeding with the disassembly of the plug, you need to make sure that the breakdown lies precisely in it. To do this, gently fold the cable near the tip. The most common cause of a gadget malfunction is a kink in the wire at the point of its attachment to the plug. Extraneous sounds will confirm the breakdown when listening to audio files, it can be crackling or noise. So, you need to disassemble the plug and eliminate the trouble.

To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Take your pliers or wire cutters and carefully unplug the plug from the wire.
  2. The metal tip must be removed carefully so as not to damage the core and contacts. Do not cut soldered wires - their color will help you solder the strands in the correct sequence. If you are using a headset equipped with a microphone, after removing the braid, you will see not three, but four wires.
  3. Separate the damaged cable and clean it. To solder the core, it is enough to strip five millimeters of the cable. To protect the wires of the headphones, they are coated with a special varnish. It will interfere with soldering, so the varnish must be removed. This can be done by gently cleaning the wires or singeing them with a lighter.
  4. Make a new braid for the plug. You can make it from the cap of an ordinary ballpoint pen. Place heat shrink tubing over the cable. It will protect the cable from repeated damage. Solder the wires to the corresponding pins on the plug. The wires are painted in different colors, so it will be easy to find the right ones.

To check the health of the gadget, use the tester. If the device is not at hand, turn on any audio file. If everything is working properly, you do not hear extraneous noise, heat the cap, after lubricating the heat shrink tubing with epoxy.

How disassemble vacuum headphones

Vacuum headphones are one of the most popular. They are small, light, allow you to enjoy music anywhere. They break most often in the place where the cable connects to the speaker of the device. Your workflow should look like this:

To check the correctness of the work done, connect the headphones to an external device and turn on the music. If they work properly, put the halves of the bowl together and carefully glue them together. In the same way, you can repair a Bluetooth headset.

How to disassemble full-size headphones

Full-size headphones are characterized by large dimensions of the cups, in which the speakers and part of the wires are hidden. For reliable fixation, manufacturers equip them with special latches or miniature bolts. Although they prevent the bowls from popping open, the bolts can seriously complicate disassembly. After all, if you miss at least one fixing element, it will break during disassembly and the gadget will be damaged.

Reference. It should be borne in mind that manufacturers use different methods of fastening. Therefore, the disassembly method will depend on the specific model.

For a clear example, consider the repair of models of several popular firms.

Sennheiser

To disassemble the product of this manufacturer, you must first remove the ear pads. Usually the pads are fixed with latches, which can be easily detached with a plastic card.

  • Next, you need to unscrew the four bolts that were hidden under the ear cushion.
  • The halves of the bowl do not stick together, so after you unscrew the bolts, they will easily fall into two parts.
  • On the front half is a speaker, to which you will have to solder new cores.

Steelseries Siberia

This manufacturer sticks a soft pad to the bowls. To detach the ear pad, you will have to use a knife or a flathead screwdriver.

Depending on the specific model, the bowls can be fastened together using small bolts or latches.

If you come across the second option, you can not do without mechanical damage to the latches. In this case, to reconnect the bowls, you will have to glue them together.

Reference. It should be borne in mind that the second time to disassemble the earphone will not work.

For Philips, Razer, Audio-Technica headphones, the soft pads are not fixed by anything, but are simply put on the bowls. Therefore, it is much easier to fix them.

Disassembly of the microphone housing with volume control

Most full-size and gaming models are equipped with a volume control for convenience. It can also be found on the headset of most smartphones.

All controls are hidden in the casing, which is located on the cable of the device. To disassemble it, follow the same steps that you need to do to disassemble the vacuum models. Most often, the halves of the casing are glued together. Therefore, you can not do without a knife or a flat screwdriver.

If the volume control is out of order, treat the slider with graphite grease.

Disassembling headphones of any manufacturer is quite simple. The main thing is to strictly follow the sequence of actions, perform manipulations carefully and be careful. Remember that if you damage the plastic parts, you will not be able to restore them.
